Random reviews part 2

Hello and welcome,

In this series I pick 5 completely random songs across many genres and review them for you. I use a star rating system with 5 being amazing and 0.25 being the worst song ever. This is based mostly on my personal taste and whether I’d listen to it in my day to day life, while lyrics do play a part they aren’t very important to me.

Ribs by Lorde

The panning in the beginning honestly made me feel so trippy. I absolutely love her voice, it has this really different sound to it and I always can tell when it's her singing. However as far as the song goes it’s not incredible. It’s not a bad song by any means but it’s just not great, this song would get lost in everything and I’d probably just skip it. It feels more like a filler to flesh out a playlist or album but not really great just by itself. I don’t hate it though so a bit confusing there. I’d rate this a 3.5 out of 5.

Broken Heart by Monsta X

Now I love a good Monsta X song, they always have great vocals, and I love the raps. However I feel this is going to a much slower song than the songs I typically listen to from them, which isn’t a bad thing because I do enjoy the occasional ballad. 

This song is very calming to listen to, and I love the melody of the lyrics. While slower than what I associate Monsta X with (songs like Love Killa, and Hero), I really love this song for different reasons. I think I’d rate this song a 4 out of 5 because while I love this when actively listening it could perhaps become a bit lost in a playlist.

Wishful Thinking by Suho

This is a bit of a newer song compared to what I have been reviewing so far, but nonetheless excited to hear. I don’t really have any preconceived ideas of what Suho’s music sounds like as I’ve never really listened to him, but I hope it’s enjoyable.

I love this relaxed rock vibe to the song. The beat is very enjoyable and perfect to groove along to. His voice is very fitting to this style of song. I am not the biggest fan of the chorus on the other hand but overall this is a rather enjoyable song. I think I’d rate this a 3.5 out of 5.

2X by EVNNE

Another newer song. I keep adding different albums or songs to one giant playlist and shuffle it so I never know what I’m going to be reviewing!

This is a nice and enjoyable song, but at the same time very forgettable. I can’t see this song sticking with me for very long once it’s over. I think I’d rate it a 2.5 out of 5

Ready To Love by SEVENTEEN

Oh my god this song is so fun! I genuinely didn’t expect such a good song, but it’s SEVENTEEN of course it’s amazing. It’s super catchy and I immediately wanted to smile when this song's chorus started. I love this so much, you could even say I’m ready to love this song. Sorry that was a bad pun. Anyway I rate this song a 4.5 out of 5.
