Playlists
Playlist time peeps! Yup, I just said peeps. (Does this make me old? Or like old in spirit?) Anyway below are playlists, I have a very strict regimen for how I organise playlists so to explain I have created a diagram of sorts:
STAGE 1
NEW SONG
If a new song is liked it moves on to stage 2 - if it isn't then it doesn't go anywhere and stays in endless purgatory - don't feel bad for the song, it deserves this, it should've been better if it wanted to be loved.
STAGE 3
WELL KNOWN SONG
Now there a few options that this song can continue on to. One is the respected life path known as stage four "organisation" however sometimes a song fails to uphold to its promise it once held in its youth. This is when I tell a song to "get lost"(I do say these words out loud). This song does not move on to stage four, does not pass go, does not collect $200.
STAGE 2
SLIGHTLY NEW SONG
As this song progresses through it's life cycle, it finds its way to my catch all playlist - HYPERFIXATION. These are new songs I have found and enjoy, and often the playlist I listen to, which familiarises myself with the songs.
STAGE 4
A LOVED SONG
This is a respected and cared for song. A song that I will pass down generations (of snails that is, I don't want kids but I have snails if that counts). These songs get sorted into one of 80+ "mood" playlists. Each playlist has a different vibe or mood I go for and are carefully curated and I grow them as time goes on. These playlists are over 3+ years of endless hard work, and I will continue to care for them until I am on my deathbed.
Welcome
STAGE 5
A SONGS LEGACY
Every song, whether it stayed at stage three, or moved on to respectable stage four, will forever have a legacy on two such playlists. One is known as Ultimate Playlist. This consists of 6,000+ songs that I have enjoyed at some point or another in my life. Every song I ever discover and enjoy is on here, even if I no longer enjoy it, because let's admit it, sometimes we don't have the best music taste at 16 years old. There is a second type of playlist songs get put onto, these are known as the years. Every year since 2023 I have created a playlist for the new songs I find during that year, I think my peak was 2024 with 1,740 songs discovered. I also enjoy finding on average how many songs I found per day - quite interesting. Every song will forever be in these playlists, they just may never be heard again among the masses which is why unless they move to stage four they often "get lost"
