Hello everyone,
Welcome to Album review Sunday. Each Sunday I review the albums that came out over the week and share my thoughts with you.
There were a lot of releases this week that I’m excited to share, but first off a bit of a disclaimer from me:
DISCLAIMER: I do not know that much about these artists as individuals and I do not personally know if they are bad people. I am reviewing JUST their music and what I think of their album. I do not necessarily support them. If you know something about an artist I have reviewed that you feel I should be aware of please feel free to contact me. I listen to all the music on headphones so I would recommend you to do the same. I do not listen to or rate explicit songs as I feel you can find everything needed in clean songs. All reviews are based off my first time listen and what I was thinking at the time, and I do not always know the story behind the song or the lyrics.
THE RATING SYSTEM: The overall album will be rated with a system of 0.5/10 being the worst I’ve ever heard and 10/10 being one of my favourite albums. The individual songs will be rated with a 0.5 stars being the worst and 5 stars being one of my favourites. I take into account beat, lyrics and whether it is something I would personally choose to listen to.

Overview: This was an okay album. My lower rating is simply due to personally not liking the lyrics. But regardless of that Taemins voice did sound amazing. I may have not enjoyed the lyrics meaning but they did sound so gorgeous and almost like poetry. I’d listen to these songs simply because Taemins voice sounds incredible.

Overview: This was an okay album. I feel it should have been a bit longer than 3 songs but that’s what mini albums are in K-pop these days. It’s a shame really that we don’t get as many songs but I’m just glad we get songs regularly.
The vocals were super pretty as well.
My lower rating of this album is due to personal taste and I don’t love this style of K-pop that much. However it was well done for the style.

Overview: Okay so please don’t come for me because I didn’t give this a high rating. BTS is great and I’m not hating on JungKook or anything like that I just didn’t really like this music.
It all felt very similar to me when listening. And the songs were all very short which I have to say I don’t like that songs are getting so short. I mean I get it’s because people have short attention spans now but I miss the days when songs were actually of decent length, and 4 minute songs weren’t considered “long”.
I didn’t enjoy the lyrics of these songs either. It’s not that they were badly written but I just didn’t like the meaning.
However “Yes or No” and ‘Please Don’t Change” were good and I enjoyed them. His vocals were really nice in this album. Again I didn't like the lyrics meaning of these songs so much but they were very nice to listen to.
#4 The 4th Mini Album ‘VERSUS’ By VIVIZ RATING: 7/10

Overview: This was a good album. Vocals were really nice. Personally I LOVED Untie. The lyrics were amazing and the first chorus had an “anti drop” which I love.
Incase you don’t know what an “anti drop” is, here’s and explanation written by me:
An “anti drop” is when a song that is building up to a “drop” of the beat, instead drops everything and just plays drums, bass, and vocals, causing an “anti drop” of the beat. It almost feels like the breath has been taken out of you when this happens when listening to a song. Charlie Puth is credited most of the time as the creator of this, as his song “Attention” uses this technique, causing many producers to follow suit, however he was not the first person to use this. One of my favourite examples is ‘Oh My God” By (G)I-DLE, which is an incredible song, but also uses an anti drop in the chorus. Maybe I should do a post with different songs with anti drops in. Would you guys be interested in this?

Overview: This was great and had some beautiful songs. The vocals were really nice to listen to. Honestly Golden Child is always great to listen to. The lyrics for “Dear” were so pretty too.

Overview: This was an amazing album to listen to. The vocals were incredible to listen to but I expect no less from WayV because vocals are always amazing.
I am not super familiar with the members yet other than Ten, but Hendery’s voice was so good, I didn’t realise how deep it is. There is always one member in a group that has a really deep voice lol.
And RODDEO was insane with the bass and his voice. I felt like my brain would just vibrate out of my skull entirely. And I also loved Tens high notes in Lighthouse.
Overall amazing album!

Overview: Honestly I was pretty surprised when I saw these songs at number one in my ratings. But these were really good songs.
Only one word comes to mind when thinking of these songs and that is “fun”. These songs are essentially happy vibes in song form so I really enjoyed listening to them.
MY FAVE SONG: ONLY FUN-I love this so much. I just wanna dance when listening and just pure happy vibes.
MY LEAST FAVE: LEMONADE-This was so fun, catchy, and boppy. I picked this as my least favourite because there literally are only 2 songs here but the lyrics were fairly meaningless it seemed to me (or I just was not getting it?), but it was fun so like I didn’t mind.
