Hello everyone,
Welcome to Album review Sunday. Each Sunday I review the albums that came out over the week and share my thoughts with you. However this week is late because I forgot about posting because a lot happened lol.
There wasn't much to review this week, most artists have lately been turning to singles when releasing music nowadays, but first off a bit of a disclaimer from me:
DISCLAIMER: I do not know that much about these artists as individuals and I do not personally know if they are bad people. I am reviewing JUST their music and what I think of their album. I do not necessarily support them. If you know something about an artist I have reviewed that you feel I should be aware of please feel free to contact me. I listen to all the music on headphones so I would recommend you to do the same. I do not listen to or rate explicit songs as I feel you can find everything needed in clean songs. All reviews are based off my first time listen and what I was thinking at the time, and I do not always know the story behind the song or the lyrics.
THE RATING SYSTEM: The overall album will be rated with a system of 0.5/10 being the worst I’ve ever heard and 10/10 being one of my favourite albums. The individual songs will be rated with a 0.5 stars being the worst and 5 stars being one of my favourites. I take into account beat, lyrics and whether it is something I would personally choose to listen to.
On to the albums!
CAPTURE THE FLAG By VANNER RATING: 8.5/10
TRACK LIST
JACKPOT 5 Stars
PONYTAIL - KOR Version 4 Stars
After Party 3 Stars
Be My Love 2.5 Stars
CIRCUIT 5 Stars
Across The Stars 4 Stars
Overview: This was actually a pretty good album. While the slower songs might have not been much to my taste (it was a personal taste thing, not on the quality), I do like that they switched it up during the album. An album that’s all the same can be quite boring. They did however still feel cohesive. I loved “CIRCUIT” as a b-side. Honestly I’m surprised it is because it could totally be a title track. Overall a nice well-rounded album.
2 By (G)I-DLE RATING: 9.5/10
TRACK LIST
Super Lady 5 Stars
Revenge 4.5 Stars
Doll 5 Stars
Vision 4 Stars
7Days 4 Stars
Fate 4 Stars
Rollie 5 Stars
Wife 4 Stars
Overview:
This was the perfect (G)I-DLE album actually.
The title track “Super Lady” is ridiculous and out there, but when you pay attention to the lyrics they actually have meaning. It sounds fun and silly, much like another song on here, “Wife” which was also a pre-release single.
I love this album. I hadn’t enjoyed their other album “HEAT” as much as I normally do with their songs but I really love this album and songs. This is all I want in a (G)I-DLE album.
My favourite B-side would have to be “Rollie”. It’s reminiscent of “MY BAG” from their first album “I NEVER DIE”, but much calmer. I love it when they make a song with a more hip-hop sound, I think it really suits their voices.
As always share your thoughts, or song recommendations in the comments or on social media, with me!
And you can check out all the songs I've heard that have been recently released, that I love, on this playlist. The newest songs are at the bottom of the playlist. I can't always review everything, not to mention singles are released all the time but I only review albums so you can hear what I like on this playlist, I love sharing music with you all!
Have a day,
Proffessor Nutkins
