Hello everyone,

Welcome to Album review Sunday. Each Sunday I review the albums that came out over the week and share my thoughts with you. However today is a Monday because I forgot to post yesterday lol.

There were a lot of releases this week that I’m excited to share, but first off a bit of a disclaimer from me:

DISCLAIMER: I do not know that much about these artists as individuals and I do not personally know if they are bad people. I am reviewing JUST their music and what I think of their album. I do not necessarily support them. If you know something about an artist I have reviewed that you feel I should be aware of please feel free to contact me. I listen to all the music on headphones so I would recommend you to do the same. I do not listen to or rate explicit songs as I feel you can find everything needed in clean songs. All reviews are based off my first time listen and what I was thinking at the time, and I do not always know the story behind the song or the lyrics.

THE RATING SYSTEM: The overall album will be rated with a system of 0.5/10 being the worst I’ve ever heard and 10/10 being one of my favourite albums. The individual songs will be rated with a 0.5 stars being the worst and 5 stars being one of my favourites. I take into account beat, lyrics and whether it is something I would personally choose to listen to.

On to the albums!

#9 Love or Loved Pt. 2 By B.I RATING: 6.5/10

TRACK LIST

  1. Loved EXPLICIT

  2. 4 Letters (feat. James Reid) 4.5 Stars

  3. Alone (feat. TYTAN) 4 Stars

  4. S.O.S 3.5 Stars

  5. All shook up (feat. AGNEZ MO) 4 Stars

Overview: This was an okay album. I found it is probably not something I’d listen to much but that’s more due to personal taste and not liking the lyrics very much. I prefer higher energy songs and these were quite slow. However I did still find they were good songs. B.I’s voice is really nice to listen to.

#8 Drama - The 4th Mini Album By aespa RATING: 7/10

TRACK LIST

  1. Drama 4.5 Stars

  2. Trick or Trick 5 Stars

  3. Don’t Blink 4 Stars

  4. Hot Air Balloon 3.5 Stars

  5. YOLO 5 Stars

  6. You 3 Stars

  7. Better Things 4.5 Stars

Overview: This was a nice album. I felt it was kind of half-half on songs I really liked and songs I would really listen to and I was really torn on what rating to give it overall. It definitely felt like aespa all the way from the first song to the last. I think Drama was a really good title track and it felt quite similar to “SAVAGE” (which I really like) but not in a bad way, just in a 100% aespa way.

#7 MELTING POINT By ZEROBASEONE RATING: 7.5/10

TRACK LIST

  1. MELTING POINT 4 Stars

  2. Take My Hand 3.5 Stars

  3. CRUSH 4 Stars

  4. Kidz Zone 5 Stars

  5. Good Night 4.5 Stars

Overview: this was actually a great album. Really pretty songs along with some super fun ones. I haven’t actually listened to ZEROBASEONE before so I was pleasantly surprised by this!

#6 AGASSY By SOOJIN RATING: 7.5/10

TRACK LIST

  1. Flowering 3.5 Stars

  2. AGASSY 4.5 Stars

  3. Sunflower 4 Stars

  4. TyTy 3.5 Stars

  5. SUNSET 3.5 Stars

  6. bloodredroses 4.5 Stars

Overview: So I’ve been a (G)I-DLE fan long enough to know Soojin used to be a member but not long enough to have been there when she left and if I’m honest I don’t really know the details of why she left. So I have listened and am reviewing this album as if she’s just a soloist and am not comparing her to (G)I-DLE’s songs because that would be unfair.

This album was really nice. Her voice was beautiful and I could totally listen to this all day. My lower ratings are more due to the lyrics being more romance based which you should know by now I’m not really a fan of. But with this aside these were really beautiful songs. My favourite is her title track “AGASSY”. I loved the way traditional sounding instruments were incorporated into the song too, which reminded me of PINK VENOM by BLACKPINK. Not to say they sound the same but I think incorporating the traditional sounding instruments into these songs are really nice and they always sound so beautiful.

#5 CUT-OUT By WHIB RATING: 8.5/10

TRACK LIST

  1. BANG! 5 Stars

  2. DIZZY 4.5 Stars

Overview: These were fun songs to bop along too with super happy vibes. These felt very similar to XODIAC’s songs from last week, just happy songs. I’ve given this a lower rating due to there only being 2 songs on the album. I realise I didn’t do that last week and honestly I’m sat here wondering why I didn’t rate it lower but I guess we shall never know

#4 iykyk By OMEGA X RATING: 8.5/10

TRACK LIST

  1. LOUDER 5 Stars

  2. JUNK FOOD 4.5 Stars

  3. Touch 3.5 Stars

  4. HEY! 4.5 Stars

  5. ISLAND 4.5 Stars

Overview: This was a really nice album. Their voices were great. I didn’t expect all the songs to be so good. I also liked that they had a mix of “louder” songs with high energy then some “quieter” songs that had kind of slower happy vibes. Overall great album and I recommend it.

#3 Born to be XX By KISS OF LIFE RATING: 8.5/10

TRACK LIST

  1. Bad News 5 Stars

  2. Nobody Knows 4 Stars

  3. My 808 4.5 Stars

  4. TTG 4 Stars

  5. Gentleman 3.5 Stars

  6. Says It 4 Stars

  7. Bad News (ENG Ver.) 5 Stars

Overview: This was a really good album. Again the mixing of slower songs and quicker songs were really nice. Their voices were super pretty. I honestly wasn’t expecting very much from this because I hadn’t really listened to any of their music. I went in expecting all songs to sound like “Says It” and then “Bad News” was just so good and so something I would listen to all the time I was really pleasantly surprised.

#2 Unfinished By Forestella RATING: 9/10

TRACK LIST

  1. Snow Globe 5 Stars

  2. White Night (Remaster Ver.) 5 Stars

  3. Chagall’s Dream 5 Stars

  4. Snow Globe (Instrumental) N/A

  5. White Night (Instrumental) N/A

  6. Chagall’s Dream (Instrumental) N/A

Overview: These songs are beautiful. Forestella has some of the most incredible voices I’ve heard. The high notes and the low notes they were able to hit in every song was just so amazing. I really highly recommend this album. Please check this album out and all of their other songs. They really are incredible to listen to.

#1 ROCK STAR By Stray Kids RATING: 10/10

TRACK LIST

  1. MEGAVERSE 5 Stars

  2. LALALALA 5 Stars

  3. BLINDSPOT 5 Stars

  4. COMFLEX 5 Stars

  5. Cover Me 5 Stars

  6. Leave 4.5 Stars

  7. Social Path (feat. LiSA) (Korean Ver.) 5 Stars

  8. LALALALA (Rock Ver.) 5 Stars

Overview: Oh my god I love this so much. Honestly I had super high expectations for Stray Kids because they are so good. I love 5 STAR and I now also love ROCK STAR. All these songs were just incredible. I am really impressed with how they managed to make the synths actually really good despite that by themselves they would be so annoying. I love this album so much and I had actually pre-ordered it before (which I also did with 5 STAR) and I am beyond excited for it to arrive. Overall, an amazing and incredible album, please listen to it!

And that concludes this weeks album. Feel free to pass on any songs/albums/releases/bands that you'd think I'd enjoy!

Have a day!
