I Feel is the sixth EP from the girl group (G)I-DLE, and was released on the 15th of May, (the day before my birthday so you can imagine my happiness that I almost share a birthday with this release).

The album discusses topics such as finding self-confidence, loving, and enjoying life. Visually the concept and fashion is very Y2K.

Their title track, "Queencard", is based of the Korean expression "퀸카" (Kwin-kar), used to refer to well off, successful girls in school, a heroine of sorts in the school setting, or otherwise the typical popular mean girl in a school setting. "Queencard" was not a favourite on first listen and I actually didn't really like the song for a long time, listening to the B-Sides more, but after hearing it more it actually really grew on me, which I hadn't expected.

And while "Queencard" lyrics maybe are not peak lyricism, it's just fun which never hurt anyone. Like literally every time it comes on do I get up and dance? The answer is yes I do. Every time. And that is the whole purpose of the song so it's won in my eyes.

But Queencard is not the reason this album won, despite literally being in my top songs of Spotify lol. "Allergy" and "All Night" would actually be my favourite songs from this album. The only bad thing I could even say about these songs is "Allergy" having that notification sound at the beginning means I can't plug anything into a computer with out the song INSTANTLY playing in my head.

And as a contrast to "Queencard", "Allergy's" lyrics do in fact have meaning. Allergy tells you that you are beautiful as you are and you don't need to change yourself to fit within the "beauty standards". The music video also following this song's theme, telling a story about a girl who feels insecure, played by member Soyeon, and wanting to change herself to fit within the standards, slowly showing that the other girls who were seen as "within beauty standards" are actually also insecure. The Queencard Music Video follows on from this where the girls gain confidence and are no loner insecure about themselves.

Overall it's an incredible album 100% deserving the winner place in this category.
