BEST FEMALE K-POP ALBUM OF 2023 5th PLACE

Unforgiven is the first studio album by girl group Le Sserafim since their debut last year, and it was released on May 1st 2023. It consists of 13 songs, with 6 being previously released in "ANTIFRAGILE" and "FEARLESS", plus 7 new songs including their title track "UNFORGIVEN (Feat. Nile Rogers)".

This album is filled with songs that take inspiration from many different genres, making for a very fascinating listen and I really appreciate variety in albums. I personally really enjoyed UNFORGIVEN as a song but it definitely wasn't as strong as their previous title tracks such as ANTI-FRAGILE and FEARLESS.

What made this deserve a place in the Best Female K-pop Album Of 2023 category for me was the B-side songs such as "Eve, Psyche & The Bluebeards Wife", and "No-return (into the unknown)".

Every song brings a unique element to this album, even including the older songs. I think perhaps if older songs weren't included from previous EP's this could have been even a better album. However having the familiarity there while listening is nice.

What really tops off this album is the performance quality of this group. This group is one of my favourite girl groups performance wise for a reason. ANTIFRAGILE and FEARLESS were both amazing in choreography and I feel both the "Unforgiven" choreo and the "Eve, Psyche and the Bluebeards Wife" choreo lived up to my expectations and are very enjoyable to watch.

And that concludes why this album has placed in the Best Female K-pop Album of 2023 category (I should've named it some shorter).
