Album Reviews
Hello everyone,
Welcome to the first ever Album review Sunday. Each Sunday I will review the albums that came out over the week and share my thoughts with you. We have several albums up today that I’m very excited to share with you but first off a bit of a disclaimer from me:
DISCLAIMER: I do not know that much about these artists as individuals and I do not personally know if they are bad people. I am reviewing JUST their music and what I think of their album. I do not necessarily support them. If you know something about an artist I have reviewed that you feel I should be aware of please feel free to contact me. I listen to all the music on headphones so I would recommend you to do the same. I do not listen to or rate explicit songs as I feel you can find everything needed in clean songs. All reviews are based of my first time listen and what I was thinking at the time, and I do not always know the story behind the song or the lyrics.
THE RATING SYSTEM: The overall album will be rated with a system of 0.5/10 being the worst I’ve ever heard and 10/10 being one of my favourite albums. The individual songs will be rated with a 0.5 stars being the worst and 5 stars being one of my favourites. I take into account beat, lyrics and whether it is something I would personally choose to listen to.
On to the albums!
#5 Good & Great-The 2nd Mini Album by KEY RATING: 5/10
TRACK LIST
Good & Great 3.5 ️️️stars
Can’t say goodbye 4 ️️️️stars
Intoxicating 4 ️️️️stars
Live without you 4 ️️️️stars
CoolAs 2.5 ️️stars
Mirror, Mirror 4.5 ️️️️stars
Overall Thoughts: This album was lacking a lot for me.
Lyrics wise it didn’t feel very meaningful in anyway until Mirror, Mirror.
Vocals wise I can’t say I really enjoyed listening to his vocals in this album.
And the songs were lacking that energy especially in the chorus I felt that would’ve taken it just to that next level.
There are definitely songs in this album I would listen to simply because they are catchy and the kind of songs that after you’ve listened to them enough to know the words they are actually kind of fun.
#4 Narcissus by DAWN 던 RATING: 6/10
TRACK LIST
Star (feat. 10CM) 4 ️️️️stars
Heart 4 ️️️️stars
I don’t 4 ️️️️stars
Fallin’ (feat. PH-1) 4 ️️️️stars
Seasons (feat. GEMINI) 4 ️️️️stars
Memory (feat. Kim Sawol) 3 ️️️stars
Lullaby 3.5 ️️️stars
Abyss 4.5 ️️️️stars
Overall thoughts: This isn’t the worst thing I’ve heard and DAWN’s voice is very pretty but it’s just lacking for me. I’m all for slower songs and I do love his voice, but I think it’s the lyrics for me. It all felt done before, you know? Break up stuff, I’ll never leave you, etc. It didn’t feel original to me, it all felt like something I’d heard before and not in a good way.
I’d probably listen to these occasionally but just not all that often.
#3 Sun Seeker by CRAVITY RATING: 8/10
TRACK LIST
Cheese 4.5 ️️️️stars
Ready or Not 4.5 ️️️️stars
MEGAPHONE 4.5 ️️️️stars
Vibration 3.5 ️️️stars
9 O’Clock 4 ️️️️stars
LOVE FIRE 3.5 ️️️stars
Overall thoughts: Yeah, yeah typical K-pop/Pop lyrics, and I am aware I hate those but the BOUNCE dude, the catchiness of this album, that is why I’ve rated this higher. It’s my weakness, even if the lyrics make no sense or are overall pretty meaningless, like if it has bounce and energy I’m gonna listen to it.
So to make it clear I love this album for its bounce, energy and overall happy vibes, but not for it’s lyrics which are just typical K-pop lyrics.
Also did any one else catch the reference to Sugar Rush High by TXT in LOVE FIRE? I was so excited lol.
#2 HOUSE ON A HILL by Eric Nam RATING: 9.5/10
TRACK LIST
House on a hill- 5 ️️️️stars
Don’t leave yet- 4.5 ️️️️stars
Only for a moment- 4 ️️️️stars
I wish I wasn’t me- 5 ️️️️stars
undefined- 3.5 stars
Sink or Swim- 4 ️️️️stars
Exist- 4.5 ️️️stars
House on a hill (feat. Em Beihold)- 5 ️️️️️stars
Overall thoughts: I LOVE this album! This is gonna be on repeat for a LONG time. Beautiful lyrics with pretty melodies. It’s super comforting to listen to, like a hot drink on a cold day. I really enjoyed Eric Nam’s music before and this new stuff is still great!
Every song is an easy sing-along anthem, and they all feel so real-without too much auto tune or edited too much-and I love it when the songs sound real. I love this so much as an album!

Overall thoughts: Wow. That was amazing. I got chills for almost every song which is super rare. The vocals in this album are incredible and I was just blown away by each song.
I didn’t think anything could top House On A Hill but I have been proved wrong it seems. It’s incredibly close but I’m gonna have to pick this one.
The power, the bounce, and energy with every song was incredible to experience.
MY TOP SONG: Life Is Beautiful: The intro-wow. Chills. Literal chills. I’m not joking. New literal obsession, and the lyrics are actually really nice. I LOVE THIS!! Wow wow wow seriously incredible.
MY LEAST FAVOURITE: Lost These Days: Not loving this much. I feel the lyrics aren’t as good. But the vocals are still incredible
And that concludes this weeks album releases. Technically Eric Nam’s album was released the 8th but I felt like including it anyway. Let me know what you thought of this! I’m thinking of doing this each week of the albums released by artists I listen to or in genres I listen to.
If you have an album you would like me to review just let me know (It doesn’t have even to have been released this year) or an upcoming album you are also excited for, and I shall add it to my list of albums to listen to when they come out!
Have a day!
