24-hour readathon!

Hi everyone,

So, surprise, surprise, I am going to be talking about books again, but before we get to all the bookish delights, I would like to take a moment to say I am watching football. Yes, football. I am just as surprised as you are. AFLW to be exact. I mean for a game that's a mashup of hot potato, keep away and catch it is pretty enjoyable.

Anyway, moving on to books I did a 24-hour readathon with one of my friends. Yeah, it was a bad idea. My friend fell asleep at 10 and I did at midnight. We woke back up at 7 and managed to finish but boy were we tired. Anyway, I ended up reading The Cruel Prince, which I enjoyed way more than I thought I did. I was concerned it would be a heavily romantic book which is so not to my taste but instead was a lot more fantasy which was nice. Unfortunately, I was tired out of my skull when I read it so I half remember what happened.

I also tried the Beautiful by Renee something (I can't remember the last name) and the Queens assassin by yet another name that I can't remember. I never finished these books as they were good then hit romance and the queen's assassin was really disappointing because I loved it until page 250, I think and all of a sudden there was undeniable attraction between the assassin and the random girl, surprise, surprise.

And the Beautiful was also disappointing as I love reading Vampire books and watching the shows etc. but sadly this one just wasn't enjoyable for me. I had trouble following the way it was written.

The last book I started reading but haven't finished (yet!) is Seafire by Natalie C. Parker (I think) and it is pretty good so far. A lot of pirates and swashbuckling fun! Yeah, I realize that wasn't a great joke. It was awful. Very sorry you had to read that.

Moving on!

I also headed to the Op Shop (secondhand store, thrift shop etc.) and purchased some books which was exciting. I got All Fall Down by Ally Carter, Buffy the Vampire Slayer one and two, One of Us Is Lying by Karen M. McManus, 2 New York tourist books, and finally Self/Less by Aviva. And the best part was it was all under 20 bucks!!

I have no idea why more people don't go op shopping. I mean One of Us Is Lying for $2.50?! In good condition? I mean I haven't seen it under $12 anywhere else. Ok, ok 12 bucks is also a bargain, but I don't like spending a lot of money on books I am not sure if I will like. I will spend $20 on a book that I know I like and would read again but for a book I want to try. I'll just use the library or find it cheap at an op shop. Best option really.

What was the best thing you guys found in an Op Shop (secondhand store, thrift shop etc.)?

Have a day!

Just out of high school I started going to the local community college. Their library was having a book sale. For only a quarter I bought the book The Killer Angel.. I’d never read it before. It became one of my all time favorite books which I’ve read multiple times. I still have that book. It was published in the 1960’s. It’s pages are yellowed with age (so much so my old eyes find it hard to read the print at times). It’s the best book deal I’ve ever found and I love that it became a favorite

Hi

probably the best thing I have found in a op shop is the Harry Potter cursed child Play script. Or a marvel iron man hat. Camo
